Siege mode is similar to Battle, except the defenders of the fort get a set amount of lives and the attackers have unlimited. It is sad however that there is not an ingame voice chat feature.
This leads to organization being key, and communication with your team crucial. It encourages tactical public play through its tense moments and an uneasy feeling you get of not knowing when you are going to be hit by a stray musket ball. What really sets this apart from other games however (discounting the period obviously) are the modes battle and siege.īattle involves the player having a single life in one round and attempting to use that life to obliterate the enemy team and hopefully be one of the last men standing. That is only one aspect of public play however, there are your typical deathmatch and team deathmatch modes of play. This mode can be a lot of fun when you have a group of friends on a server and youre all together in some sort of voice chat laughing so hard about how Johnny failed at charging his cavalry uphill. You can choose riflemen, infantry, light infantry, guard infantry, cavalry, and artillery during these battles.
